Terms and Conditions
1. About Tamar Health
Tamar Health Ltd is a UK based private healthcare provider delivering adult primary care, diagnostic, and wellbeing services. All services are provided on a private, self funding basis unless explicitly stated otherwise. Tamar Health does not replace NHS services and patients remain registered with their NHS GP.
2. Scope of Services
Tamar Health provides private medical consultations, urgent and routine assessments, prescribing within clinical scope, phlebotomy and blood testing, ear microsuction, health screening, and wellbeing services. Services are delivered by appropriately trained and regulated clinicians in line with UK professional standards. We reserve the right to decline or discontinue care if a service falls outside our scope, is not clinically appropriate, or cannot be delivered safely.
3. Eligibility
Services are provided to adults aged 18 years and over unless otherwise specified. Patients must be able to provide informed consent. Where capacity is in doubt, assessment will be undertaken in line with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and care may be declined or redirected if consent cannot be safely obtained.
4. Appointments and Booking
Appointments must be booked in advance via our website or by contacting Tamar Health directly. Appointment availability is subject to clinical capacity. Urgent appointments are intended for acute but non life threatening conditions. Emergency conditions must be directed to NHS emergency services.
5. Fees and Payment
All fees are payable in advance unless otherwise agreed. Fees are clearly displayed at the point of booking. Consultation fees include clinical assessment and advice but may not include investigations, prescriptions, letters, referrals, or procedures unless stated. Additional services will be charged separately. Failure to make payment may result in cancellation of appointments or withholding of non urgent documentation.
6. Cancellations and Non Attendance
Patients must provide at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or failure to attend may result in the full appointment fee being charged. Tamar Health reserves the right to cancel appointments due to clinician illness, unforeseen circumstances, or safety concerns. In such cases, alternative appointments or refunds will be offered.
7. Prescriptions
Prescriptions are issued at the discretion of the treating clinician following appropriate clinical assessment. Tamar Health does not guarantee that a prescription will be issued. Controlled drugs are prescribed only in exceptional circumstances and for short courses where clinically appropriate. Ongoing or long term analgesia, including opioids, should be managed within the NHS system to support continuity of care and patient safety. Patients remain responsible for any pharmacy charges.
8. Test Results and Investigations
Test results will be communicated using the method agreed at the time of consultation. It is the patient’s responsibility to ensure Tamar Health has up to date contact details. Abnormal or urgent results may require further appointments, referral to NHS services, or emergency escalation. Fees for investigations are non refundable once samples have been taken or tests requested.
9. Referrals and Letters
Referral letters, medical reports, and non standard documentation may incur an additional fee. Tamar Health cannot guarantee acceptance of referrals by third party providers, insurers, or NHS services. Private referrals may require confirmation of funding or insurance authorisation.
10. Clinical Governance and Safety
Tamar Health operates robust clinical governance arrangements aligned with Care Quality Commission requirements. This includes safeguarding, infection prevention, incident reporting, duty of candour, and quality improvement processes. Where patient safety concerns arise, care may be escalated or transferred to NHS services without delay.
11. Complaints
We are committed to providing high quality care. If you wish to raise a concern or complaint, this should be done in writing as soon as possible. Complaints will be managed in line with our complaints policy. Making a complaint will not affect your ongoing care.
12. Data Protection and Confidentiality
Tamar Health processes personal and medical data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Patient information is kept confidential and shared only where necessary for care delivery, legal obligations, or safeguarding. Full details are available in our Privacy Policy.
13. Limitation of Liability
Tamar Health will not be liable for loss or damage arising from circumstances beyond our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for any matter that cannot be legally excluded under UK law.
14. Website Use

Tamar Health reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated versions will be published on our website and will apply from the date of publication.
16. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
