Why Tamar Health was created

Our service was created in response to what we see every day, patients struggling to get timely appointments and clinicians increasingly concerned about the impact of delays on patient safety and wellbeing.

Supporting the NHS, not replacing it

The NHS is an invaluable service and one we are proud to have in the UK. Many of our clinicians have spent the majority of their careers working within NHS services. However, increasing demand and long term pressure on resources have made it harder for people to access care quickly, particularly for acute or worrying symptoms.

Tamar Health exists to support this gap by offering an additional option for patients who need timely assessment. We encourage all patients to remain registered with their NHS GP and we work alongside NHS services, referring back into NHS pathways whenever ongoing care or specialist input is needed.

Tamar Health was developed by experienced clinicians who live and work locally. We saw the impact that delayed access to care was having on patients and wanted to create a service that focused on safe assessment, clear communication, and practical solutions.
