A lab urine test.
Checks your urine for protein, blood, white cells, glucose and more. Urine sample only, no blood test. No GP referral needed.
Why test

Questions people ask
The things people most often ask before booking.
About the test
Can I have a urine test during my period?
Yes, but blood from your period can affect the result. If you can, test a few days after it ends, and tell us if you are on your period.
What if there is blood but no infection?
Blood in urine without infection always needs looking into, even if it happened once. We will advise on the next step, which may be your GP.
Do I need antibiotics?
Antibiotics need a clinical assessment. If you have urine infection symptoms, book an urgent appointment rather than a test on its own.
