Menopause screening

Menopause and perimenopause can affect women in very different ways. Hot flushes, night sweats, poor sleep, low mood, anxiety, brain fog, fatigue, weight changes, joint aches and irregular periods are all common, and can significantly affect day-to-day life. Understanding whether symptoms are hormonal, metabolic or related to another health issue is an important first step toward effective treatment.

We are not a dedicated menopause specialist clinic, but we do offer accurate, private hormone blood testing without a GP referral. Results are reviewed by a clinician and reported clearly. You are welcome to take your results to your own GP or to any menopause specialist, or to discuss them with our team.

Which option is right for you?

  • Hormone Blood Test (£100) – a good starting point if you want a hormonal overview, are monitoring known perimenopause, or are already under a specialist and need updated hormone levels.
  • Well Woman + Hormone (£289) – recommended if symptoms are significant, varied, or affecting quality of life, or if you would value a wider check of your general health alongside your hormones. One appointment, one blood draw, and a saving of £46 against booking the two separately.

Hormone levels fluctuate in perimenopause, so a single test is not always conclusive. Our clinicians interpret your results in context and advise on whether repeat testing or further investigation is appropriate.

Why choose Tamar Health for menopause blood testing?

Symptoms are real, varied, and often underinvestigated, and we believe women deserve timely access to accurate information about their own health. Our clinicians are experienced in menopause and perimenopause and keep up to date with current NICE guidance. All blood tests are processed through Nationwide Pathology, a UKAS-accredited UK laboratory, and results are reviewed and reported by a clinician, not just flagged against a reference range.
