Routine appointments are for planned care. That means managing an ongoing condition, reviewing your medicines, or looking into something that is not urgent but deserves proper time.
You see Tim Needham, an Advanced Practitioner with over 25 years in emergency, urgent and primary care. Every appointment is face to face, because seeing you in person makes a real difference.

Routine appointment or health assessment?
Both are face to face with an Advanced Practitioner. Bloods can be added to either.

Blood tests are not included in any of these fees, but can be taken in the same appointment. The usual £25 blood draw fee is taken off, so you only pay for the tests. Prices are on our price list.

Pick a time that suits you. The £45 fee is paid when you book.
Fill in your new patient form
Once you have booked, we send you a short form about your health, medicines and what you would like to discuss.
Come to the clinic
Bring photo ID, such as a passport or driving licence. We need to see it at every visit. Free parking on site.
Leave with a plan
A prescription, a referral, tests, or clear advice on what to do next.

Before your appointment
A little preparation helps you get the most from your time. Please bring:
- Photo ID. We need to see it at every visit.
- A list of all your medicines, including ones you buy yourself
- Any recent test results or hospital letters
- A written list of your questions
Need a medical report?
DVLA, insurance and pre-employment medicals must be done by a doctor. We do not offer these at the moment. If you are not sure, send us a message before you book.

Booking
How soon can I be seen?
Routine appointments are often available within the week. If something is getting worse, book an urgent appointment instead. Most people are seen within 2 working days.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. Book directly online. You stay registered with your NHS GP.
Do you offer phone or video appointments?
No. Every appointment is face to face at our clinic.
Can I raise more than one concern?
Yes, as long as there is time. If you have a lot to cover, a health assessment gives you longer.
Your care
Is an Advanced Practitioner a doctor?
No. Advanced Practitioners are not doctors. They are senior clinicians with a wide range of training and experience. In this setting, Tim can assess, diagnose, treat and prescribe for most concerns, and refer you on if you need it.
Can I have blood tests in the same appointment?
Yes. The usual £25 blood draw fee is taken off, so you only pay for the tests. Test prices are on our price list.
Will my NHS GP know I have been seen?
Only if you want them to. Tamar Health is independent of the NHS. With your consent, we send a summary to your GP if we have an email address for your surgery. Your GP cannot access the records we hold about you.
Is there an extra charge for a referral letter?
No. Referral letters written as part of your appointment are included. The specialist’s own fees are separate.
